Gunner's Mate 1st Class Michael Davis receives instruction from Singaporean Coast Guard inspector during a visit, board, search and seizure training brief as part of a compliant boarding exercise for CARAT Singapore. The Freedom is currently participating in Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training Singapore 2013. More than 700 sailors and Marines are participating in CARAT. CARAT is a series of bilateral military exercises between the U.S. Navy and the armed forces of Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Timor Leste.
