Summary
Significance: Original residence of William Wister, a businessman, Revolutionary War currency endorser and member of a prominent Philadelphia family. Following his death in 1800, the house continued to be owned by his family until 1853. In 1960. a collateral descendant (William was a lifelong bachelor) repurchased the house.
