Hamlet, to left, accompanied by Horatio, stands on the edge of the grave, and looks sadly at the skull of Yorick, held up and identified by one of the gravediggers, to right, who stands inside the grave; the second gravedigger, in centre foreground, sits on the edge of the grave, one hand to his ear, the other holding his tool. 1843.
