Summary
Significance: Example of "mail order" commercial architecture and the changing building technology of the late 19th & early 20th centuries; exemplifying turn-of-the-century manufacturing capabilities in modular construction, standardization of design elements, imitation building materials and centralized manufacture, sales & distribution. The building is one of the few intact remaining examples of mail order commercial storefronts manufactured by the George Mesker Co. of Evansville, Indiana.
