Hospitalman Kervin Lacson listens to the heartbeat of a potential surgery recipient at the Calbayog Sports Complex during a surgical civic action program. The program screens patients to determine their suitability for having surgery aboard the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) during Pacific Partnership 2012. Now in its seventh year, Pacific Partnership is an annual U.S. Pacific Fleet humanitarian and civic action mission designed to work by, with and through host and partner nations, non-government organizations and international agencies to build partnership and a collective ability to respond to natural disasters.
