INDIAN OCEAN (Nov. 1, 2017) U.S. Navy Chief Machinist's Mate (Nuclear) Kenneth Kuper, from Laurel, Mont., has his collar devices removed prior to being commissioned to the rank of ensign aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68), Nov. 1, 2017, in the Indian Ocean. The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group is on a regularly scheduled deployment in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts.
