Interior contains paneled staff desk at left with books visible on wire shelves behind; on arch to right side of desk is Volk's plaster bust of Abraham Lincoln, acquired by the library in 1867. Balcony in main area, on which hangs portrait of James Bunker Congdon. Benches, chairs, reading tables visible throughout. Card catalog at far right. Multi-armed electroliers hang from ceiling. Pictures and portrait busts installed around interior.
