Summary
COOS BAY, Ore. - A Coast Guard crew aboard the 52-foot motor lifeboat Intrepid conduct surf drills off the coast of Oregon, Nov. 18, 2009.
The Intrepid is built to withstand the most severe conditions at sea and is self-baling, self-righting, has a long-cruising radius and is virtually unsinkable.
All four of the Coast Guard's 52-foot motor lifeboats are located in the Pacific Northwest.
