January 17 marked the half-way point for the Marines

January 17 marked the half-way point for the Marines and sailors of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit and Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group. To celebrate the event, the ship’s food services division made a special meal for the embarked service members that included steak, king crab legs and cake. The 15th MEU is deployed as part of the Peleliu ARG as a U.S. Central Command theater reserve force, providing support for maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
