Jayne Mansfield, born 19 April 1933 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA, was an American actress, singer and model. She gained fame in the 1950s and early 1960s for her glamorous image and roles in films that often highlighted her sex appeal, and was one of Hollywood's original blonde bombshells, often compared to Marilyn Monroe. Mansfield began her Hollywood career in the late 1950s and appeared in numerous films, including "The Girl Can't Help It" (1956), "Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter? (1957) and "Promises! Promises!" (1963). Known for her provocative image, she used her voluptuous figure to attract attention and became famous for her hourglass figure, which she accentuated with tight-fitting clothing and low-cut dresses. In her personal life, Mansfield had a complicated history, having been married three times, the most notable of which was to bodybuilder and actor Mickey Hargitay. The couple had three children, including actress Mariska Hargitay. Tragically, Mansfield's life was cut short at the age of 34 in a car accident on 29 June 1967. The accident, which occurred in Louisiana, claimed the lives of her boyfriend, lawyer Sam Brody, and the driver of the car, Ronald B. Harrison. Despite her relatively short career, Mansfield left a lasting impact on popular culture and is remembered as one of the iconic figures of 1950s Hollywood, known for her beauty, charisma and flamboyant personality. Her life and career are often discussed in the context of Hollywood's golden age and the cultural changes of the 1950s and 1960s. While she may not have achieved the same level of enduring fame as some of her contemporaries, Mansfield remains a memorable figure in the history of American cinema.
