Summary
Broadside 'Kriegsbilderbogen', number eleven; with twelve separate scenes, satirically commenting on the political chaos and stagnation in Germany after the Franco-Prussian war, the French negotiators Gambetta and Thiers are depicted as caricatures as talks come to a halt, and Bebel (founder of the German socialist party) addresses his audience of politicians in the Reichstag whilst the German citizens starve and eat rats. 1870-1
