KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. -- This aerial photo shows the storage area containing Launch Umbilical Towers that were used during the early years of the Space Program.  In the lower left corner of the storage field is a Caterpillar excavator with a 48-inch shear demolishing LUT-1, used to launch Apollo 8, Apollo 11, Skylab manned missions and the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project.  The shear is one used in the deconstruction of the Twin Towers in New York City after 9/11. KSC-04pd0651
