Lance Cpl. Donald Hesse, a working dog handler, pets his dog Dasty at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Sept. 23, 2015. Hesse joined the Marine Corps in 2013, and has been working with his partner Dasty, a six-year-old Belgian Malinois and a patrol explosive detection dog, for one month. Hesse is from Salem, Massachusetts, and is a military working dog handler with 3rd Law Enforcement Battalion, III Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, III MEF.
