Who is your Female Conservation Hero or Mentor?
There are many. Jane Goodall, etched in my earliest memories as a woman science, for her lifelong dedication to conservation and activism. Kim Stroud, director of the Ojai Raptor Center, who gave me hands-on experience rehabilitating injured and orphaned birds of prey, which eventually changed the course of my life and career completely. My high school biology teacher and every female professor I had in college. My female colleagues and friends in the science field from whom I am constantly learning.
Where did you go to school or military branch?
CSU- Northridge.
What did you study?
B.S. in environmental biology.
How did you get interested in conservation?
As a volunteer for a wildlife rehabilitation center, I was seeing the direct effects of the human impact on wildlife and knew I wanted to be a part of conservation on a larger scale. I went back to school to earn a degree in science with the goal of working for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
If you could have one incredible animal adaptation, what would it be?

To fly!
