Letter from Elbridge Gerry Howe, East Marshfield, to Amos Augustus Phelps, 11 Nov. '37

In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, Eldridge G. Howe expresses his disapproval of forming a New England Evangelical anti-slavery society, and suggests that Phelps get up against such a call. He says the Executive Committee of Massachusetts Anti-slavery Society should sever its connection with the Liberator immediately to eliminate the ground for those who made such a call.
