Letter from Eliza Wigham, Edinburgh, to Samuel May, 12.11.57
Summary
Miss Wigham sympathizes with May over the straitened circumstances of the anti-slavery cause as a result of the Panic of 1857. She mentions the "catalogue of tokens of success in the progress of the A. S. movement." Miss Wigham says that the Scotch banks have been affected by the financial crisis and that the Edinburgh contributions to the Anti-Slavery Fair will probably be somewhat less as a consequence.
