Letter from George Thompson, London, [England], to Henry Clarke Wright, 1846 May 8

description

Summary

George Thompson writes to Henry Clarke Wright in regards to receiving news from India which requires his absence from London and for him to be present in "Edinbro during the sitting of the assembly." He writes that Wright must not fix any meeting that requires Thompson's presence before Sunday evening. He is eager to hear how Frederick [Douglass]'s lecture went the previous night. He discusses his plans to attend antislavery meetings and his plans to write to the publisher of the Pamphlet but says he has no obligation to "answer an anonymous writer, but it may be expedient to do so." He doesn't need documents but Wright can supply him as he proceeds.
