Lt. Col. David Skalicky of Bismarck, N.D., sprays water on Capt. Andrew Wetzel of Grassy Butte, N.D., as he competes in the Lincoln National Guard Marathon May 6, 2012, in Nebraska. The humidity hovered around 85 percent at the start of the event, and temperatures climbed higher than normal for the race. He is one of seven North Dakota National Guard members who qualified to compete with the state team.
