Lt. Gen. Richard T. Tryon, Commander, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Command, welcomes Col. Matthew G. St. Clair, Commanding Officer, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, home after a nine month long deployment. The last year had been a busy one for the 26th MEU, even before their deployment, they took part in Super Storm Sandy relief efforts, providing generators, fuel, clean water and helicopter capabilities. During their deployment, the 26th MEU moved between the Sixth and Fifth Fleet's area of operations participating in numerous operations around the Mediterranean. Tryon took the time to personally show his appreciation for and congratulate St. Clair on a successful deployment. "MEUs continue to demonstrate the versatility and flexibility of the Navy, Marine Corps team," said Tryon. "They meet The Commandant's mandate to be prepared to respond to today's crisis with today's forces, today."
