Summary
Maj. Chris Clyne from the Oregon Army National Guard’s 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Eric Brassil and Deborah MacLean from the public affairs office of the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo, and Capt. Nadine Demoura from the Texas Army National Guard’s 100th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment hold a professional-development meeting Sept. 17, 2020, at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo. Clyne and Demoura represent the public affairs office detachment to the U.S.-led Kosovo Force Regional Command East mission (a function of the NATO-led Operation Joint Guardian) who are charged with ensuring the safety and security and freedom of movement for the people of Kosovo. Brassil and MacLean’s public affairs operations centers around the U.S. Embassy located in Kosovo’s capital, Pristina. The two organization’s public affairs operations have occasionally crossed paths but they mostly operate independently of each other. Both organizations’ public affairs personnel are responsible for highlighting the operations of their respective organizations through multimedia distribution and media engagement, among other methods, promoting transparency of operations, and ultimately keeping each organization’s stakeholders well informed of operations.
