MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII (July 12, 2016)--U.S. Navy Landing Craft Air Cushion assigned to Assault Craft Unit 5 arrives to shore during a loading exercise at Landing Zone Westfield aboard Marine Corps Air Station, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, July 12th, 2016. The LCACs are transporting U.S. Marine Corps equipment to USS San Diego so that it may be shipped off to Pohakuloa Training Area, Hawaii, in support of Rim of the Pacific Exercise. Twenty-six nations, 49 ships, six submarines, about 200 aircraft, and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC 16 from June 29 to Aug. 4 in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships between participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans.
