Marine Corps Gen. John R. Allen, commander of NATO

Marine Corps Gen. John R. Allen, commander of NATO and International Security Assistance Force troops in Afghanistan, and Ambassador Simon Gass, NATO senior civilian representative to Afghanistan, hosted a joint press conference Sept. 14 at ISAF Headquarters in Kabul. The press conference follows the Taliban claimed Sept. 13 attacks against the citizens of Kabul and the U.S. Embassy and ISAF Headquarters compounds. Allen and Gass reassured the Afghan community about the capability of the Afghan National Security Force and to not lose hope or trust in their ability to protect and lead their country as they continue to transition toward taking the lead in security efforts by the end of 2014.
