Marines show local children the squad automatic weapon and a mortar display March 9 during Discovery Day in the village of Umatac. The celebration marks 492 since Guam's discovery. The Marines are part of Exercise Guahan Shield, an exercise set to facilitate multiservice engagements, set conditions for bilateral and multilateral training opportunities, and support rapid response to potential to theater crises and contingency operations in the Asia-Pacific region.
