Marines with Alpha Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, patrol the coastal desert here for training April 14, 2012. African Lion is a bilateral training exercise in Morocco, in which the 24th MEU will partner with the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces to conduct a variety of training events to learn from each other and build partnerships between each nation's militaries. The 24th MEU is currently deployed as a theater reserve and crisis response force capable of a variety of missions from full-scale combat to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
