Summary

Sitkinak Island, AK (Jan. 1998) -- A Coast Guard HH-60J Jayhawk helicopter trasnfers hazardous waste from an abandoned Coast Guard loran station on Sitkinak Island to the CGC Firebrush (WLB 393). Crews have been "squaring up with Mother Nature" by removing containers of old gasoline, paint and batteries left behind in the 1908s. The waste was moved to Kodiak for proper disposal.
