Summary
Significance: Mascot Roller Mills (also called the Ressler Mill) is located along Mill Creek in Upper Leacock Township. The original mill building on the site was erected by June 1740, perhaps by Hattill Verman (the first owner of the mill tract) or by Jacob Bear. Though the physical characteristics of the first building are not known, tax records for 1815 and an 1820 sale bill indicate that the mill in this period stood two stories high and that its other dimensions were similar to the present ones. It was raised to its present height by Daniel Groff around 1855. The mill was purchased by William Ressler in 1865, and thus began three generations of Ressler family ownership...
