Melrose, Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. Mud and log construction in old house originally built and owned by mulattoes, now a part of John Henry cotton plantation. Purchased by him from mulattoes in 1833. Metoyier built it. It was originally called Yucca Plantation (from Spanish). See general caption
