DoD units such as TF51 will be playing a vital role in working with and supporting local, state and federal agencies at Vibrant Response 13. VR13 is a major field training exercise conducted July 26-Aug. 13 by U.S. Northern Command and led by U.S. Army North. The catastrophic incident exercise, based on a notional detonation of a 10-kiloton nuclear device in a major Midwestern city, has more than 9,000 service members and civilians in 11 training locations and airfields spread across 5,000 square miles in southern Indiana and northern Kentucky.
