Sgt. Blake Wombold, a biomedical equipment technician with the 4225th U.S. Army Hospital, Helena, Mont., is competing in the Army Reserve Medical Command’s prestigious Best Warrior Competition in here. Feb. 24 – 27, 2014. Wombold, 25, is representing Western Medical Area Readiness Support Group from San Pablo, Calif. He is one of 13 selected soldiers of approximately 9,500-strong ARMEDCOM warriors to be selected to compete for this honor. Currently, he works as a field engineer in Spokane, Wash. Wombold, earned his chemistry degree in 2006 from Salish Kootenai College in Pablo, Mont. Wombold, a native of Missoula, Mont., is a combat veteran who was decorated for his combat tour deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom.
