MOUNT BUNDEY TRAINING AREA, Australia – U.S. Marines with Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Marine Rotational Force Darwin, provide security during a patrol to their support by fire position during Exercise Koolendong 2017, July 17, 2017. The Marines provided suppressive fire, which allowed Marines with Company K, 3rd Bn., 4th Marines, to close with and take their objective. Koolendong 17 is an annual, battalion-level bilateral live fire event designed to improve combat readiness and provide training opportunities that strengthen the interoperability of U.S. Marines and sailors, Australian Defence Force, and French Army New Caledonia.
