Music Box And Key, late 19th century (CH 18416829-2)
Summary
Wood box with lid attached with three hinges. At front, decoration of two roses, and a keyhole. At side, a key with the mark: IP. IG. Inside is the music cylinder. Printed paper label affixed inside the lid with two brass tacks. Striped border with lyre and face. Text reads: Six Airs / Etouffoirs en acier soit a Spiraux. Listed at center are the songs: Home Sweet Home; Motif de l’Ouverture de Gustave, d’Auber; Jim Crow; Berger Galop de Strauss; Isabel; and Finale du Serment, d’Auber.
