Summary

Did you know "America's Dairyland" is thought to have more dairy cows than any other state? Cows are cool, but so are Wisconsin’s national parks. The Badger State is home to several places protected by the National Park Service. Located in the upper Midwest and bordered by Lakes Michigan and Superior, the state’s parks offer ample opportunities to explore the rivers, lakes and trails of the region.

Visitors can float down the pristine and beautiful waters of the St. Croix and Namekagon Rivers for over 250 miles at Saint Croix National Scenic Riverway. From lighthouses to forests, sea caves and pristine beaches, Apostle Islands National Lakeshore provides ample opportunities to explore. Did you know glaciers covered most of Wisconsin as late as 15,000 years ago? As the glaciers retreated, they carved out much of Wisconsin’s geography. To this day, it’s possible to see the massive boulders left behind after the ice age. Today, visitors can see first-hand on a trek along the Ice Age National Scenic Trail that winds across Wisconsin.
