CROIX, U.S. Virgin Islands (Sep. 21, 2017) Naval Aircrewmen (Helicopter) 2nd Class Logan Parkinson, left, and Brandon Larnard, both assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 22, embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1), prepare a patient for evacuation during relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Maria. The Department of Defense is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
