Violeta Padora of the Medical Treatment Facility aboard the U.S. Military Sealift Command (MSC) Hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19), teaches basic nursing to first year students at the Gunungsitoli General Hospital. The crew from the hospital ship will be providing a week of humanitarian and civic assistance to the people of this small island. The Mercy is in the third month of a scheduled five-month deployment to host nations in the Pacific Islands, and South and Southeast Asia.
