Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Ill. (May. 09, 2003) Navy instructor, Damage Controlman 2nd Class, Shawn Love exposes a division of recruits to tear gas as they remove their Gas Mask (MCU-2/P). The staff teaches the students how to don their Gas Masks properly, and then have them remove their masks and recite their name and social security number. This teaches the recruits to have confidence in their equipment and in the training, which could be needed if they are exposed to chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction.
