Navy Lt. David Latour, band director and conductor during event, leads the U.S. Naval Forces Europe Band as it plays a classic TV theme song during a rehearsal for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo outside Edinburgh castle, July 30. The tattoo’s theme is Scottish history and the NAVEUR band has been asked to play music representing popular comic books to represent the pop-culture of the 20th century. Tunes to be played include everything from the Popeye theme to Dennis the Menace. This military tattoo brings together musicians, dancers and bagpipers from around the world to perform in Europe’s most prestigious military tattoo and this year marks the first time since 1950 that a Navy band has performed in the show.
