New Bedford-Fairhaven Coach - Early photography, Public domain image

Black and white photo of woman with dark hair piled on top of head, in light blouse and dark full-length skirt, holding baby in arms, standing to left of old 4 wheel horse-drawn coach. Coach is painted with lettering reading across top of side "G.D. COWEN, DRIVER [illegible]" and at bottom "THIS BUS WAS USED/ BETWEEN FAIRHAVEN & NEW BEDFORD/ 18[numbers blocked by wheel spokes] TO 1872." Back door of coach is open; sits outside on open lawn near treed area, wooden fence in background; window of building just visible in background at left. Mounted on gray cardboard with stamped band border.
