New York National Guard Soldiers of the 42nd Infantry Division pose for a photograph at the Sommepy American Monument July 26, 2018, near Sommepy-Tahure, France. In July 1918, the 42nd “Rainbow” Division served alongside French units near here in the Champagne Defense, which blunted the final advance by the German Army during World War I.
