CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- At the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, University of Colorado Boulder graduate students Heather Hava, far left, and Daniel Zukowski, second from the left, describe a computerized SmartPot, or SPOT, which could be used to grow plants in a deep-space habitat. The SPOTs could be tended by a Remotely Operated Gardening Rover, or ROGR, seen on the left. The system is being developed by the graduate students participating in the eXploration HABitat X-Hab Academic Innovation Challenge. Summary

Noah Martin, native of Santa Rita, Guam, speaks during an interview after her donation of gifts to Toys for Tots at the Guam Chamber of Commerce Offices. Martin, a 16-year-old Junior at Southern Christian Academy, asked family and friends for gifts for Toys for Tots at her 16th birthday party in-lieu of presents for herself. Her generous act resulted in a donation of over 60 items to the Guam Toys for Tots campaign.
