Summary

Amusing characters board an unsteady trolley at each stop, and then abandon the streetcar in order to chase a man who brought on board a basket full of snakes that got loose. A goose gets involved in the chase, and is stolen by a tramp.The chase ends when the crowd arrives at a stream that the tramp has already crossed, with the goose under his arm.

Photographed on May 2-3, 1904 in the Edison studio in New York City, and in the Forest Hills neighborhood in Queens.
According to the George Kleine catalog, the first 146 feet of the film are shot in an interior set of a trolley; the remainder of the film is exterior scenes. Two lines of music and lyrics appear at the end of the film. There are no interior titles. According to the Edison catalog, the words and music from the popular song "On a good, old 5 [cent] trolley ride" complete the picture. Sources indicate that the song may have been the 1904 song, "On a good old trolley ride", words by Joseph C. Farrell, music by Pat Rooney.
