Operation Silverstream, Asian Carp Rapid Response Workgroup

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Fisheries biologists from the state of Illinois and federal agencies use electric probes in the waters along the Chicago Sanitary Ship Canal to ferret out Asian carp near the electric fish barrier located in Romeoville Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009. The fisheries boat crews are working with various federal agencies and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources in advance of the delivery of the fish toxicant Rotenone for Operation Silverstream to prevent the spread of Asian carp into the Great Lakes.
