Summary
A 1912 Great Northern Railway timetable describes the Oriental Limited's daily eastbound and westbound service between Chicago and Seattle. The trip across the northern plains and through the mountains took almost exactly four days.
This postcard, made around 1910, shows the Great Northern's Oriental Limited entering Horseshoe Tunnel in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State. The large steel trestle was built around 1900.
