description

Summary

Paratroopers from the French Foreign Legion's 2nd Foreign Parachute Regiment (2 REP), part of the French Army's 11th Parachute Brigade, prepare to load onto a Nevada Air National Guard C-130H Hercules, prior to a Joint Forcible Entry airdrop, May 28, 2014, in support of Allied Forge 2014, near Solanzara Air Base, Corsica, France. The 2 REP is the most capable infantry battalion in the French army with recent airborne operational experience in Mali. Allied Forge, led by the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division in conjunction with the 152nd and 165th Air National Guard Airlift Wings, is the first ever interoperability exercise designed to enhance bilateral capabilities between the United States and the French army's 11th Parachute Brigade.
