Plaat 1740 3e paddestoel uit elzenbosch jan six

This is the "Roede der aarde met zyne ballen" page 245 of the book Geneeskundige Waarnemingen, the 1740 version of Observationes Medicae from 1641, translated into Dutch from the Latin original and embellished by Ludovicus Wolzogen. The book contains translations of medical notes by Tulp, but has some extra additions and plates. This plate was added as the 54th chapter, but did not exist in the earlier Latin version. This book was published a century later than the original, and both were quite popular.
Nederlands: Als ik t'eniger tyd, in het zandige Elzenbosch van Jan Six mynen Schoonzoon, zocht naar eenige Phallen van Adriaan Junius, die ik wist dat daar ter plaatse al te overvloedig waren, vertoonde zig onverwacht, en tegen alle vermoeden, ik weet niet, welk een roede der aarde met zyne ballen, zo juistelijk overeenkomende met de mannelyke roede, dat men nauwelijks een ei gelijker aan een ei gezien heeft.
