"Plan of the City of New Orleans and adjacent plantations". 1875 printed copy of 1798 Spanish map.
Shows the urbanized area of the old city, now the "French Quarter", as well as newly laid out streets of "Faubourg St. Marie" new subdivision just upriver (part of the current New Orleans Central Business District). (Marigny Planation downriver not yet subdivided into Faubourg Marigny.) The map also shows the land running back to Lake Pontchartrain, including Old Bayou Road, the Carondelet Canal, and various plantation grants and developments along Bayou St. John. Bayou Gentilly, Bayou Metairie. Fort St. John is seen at mouth of Bayou St. John at the Lakefront.
