Print also shows the Becke, Geete and Gias rivers and the location of numerous small villages in the region. Key locations and activities are identified in the print and labeled A-N. On July 18, 1705, the Duke of Marlborough successfully broke through the French forces at a small village in Belgium, near Hillesheim, Germany. The Lines of Brabant were a strategic arc of defensive fieldworks stretching from Antwerp to Namur in Belgium.
