description

Summary

Six-frame comic strip. Maw has persuaded Paw to quit smoking as his New Years' resolution. Paw is angry, because Maw has the whole family spying on him to insure that he keeps his promise. A friend invents a mechanism to force smoke up the chimney, so the family will not suspect Paw is still smoking. When the women of the family come to keep on eye on him, Paw welcomes them into the room.
A drop, or frame which could be dropped from publication if a newspaper did not have sufficient space to publish it, is above the strip. It shows 1918 as a smoking grandfather, running over Paw in his escape from the infant 1919.
