Oeuvre présentée par Alexandre Vigneux au Salon de 1799 à Paris (numéro 736 du livret d'exposition : Portrait du citoyen Fridzeri, artiste ).
Sous le dessin on lit cet hommage en lettres manuscrites:
"Des secrets de son art heureux dépositaire,
Compositeur habile, artiste ingénieux;
Dans le double talent d'enseigner et de plaire,
Il eut peu de rivaux et beaucoup d'envieux".

Le dessin est signé Vigneux f. en bas à droite.

Under the drawing we read this tribute in handwritten letters:
"Secrets of his art, happy custodian,
Skillful composer, ingenious artist;
In the double talent of teaching and pleasing,
He had few rivals and many envious ".

The drawing is signed Vigneux f. lower right.
