LIBI_00204_07028; A sepia-toned and card-mounted photo, oval shaped image. It depicts a portrait of George Lell. He is young, 18-20 years old. He is wearing a dark suit and tie. The portrait was probably taken around 1864-1865, during his service in the Civil War. Lell served H Company under Benteen. Lell was killed during the Battle of Little Bighorn on June 26, 1876. The portrait was taken by Hughes Gallery in Memphis, Tenn.
