Rear Adm. James G. Sailors and embarked Marines assigned to the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41), also attended to pay homage during a scheduled port visit. The Whidbey Island is deployed as part of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group, supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation effort is the U.S. 6th fleet area of responsibility and is currently celebrating Independence Day in France during a scheduled port visit.
